Preah Khan temple is also a popular direction for
tourists who go to visit Siem Reap province. This temple in near Angkor Thom
too with the distance is around two kilometers. Therefore, visitors are easy to
reach this place. They can go there after exploring many wonderful things at
Angkor Thom. King Jaya-varman VII built Preah Khan temple in 1191 AD
to dedicate to his father. This temple constructed on the battle site
between Khmer and Chams, and it was the place that King Jaya-varman VII defeated
the Chams. This mention is based on the inscription at this temple. This
temple showed the power of Khmer Empire that always won the invasion from enemies.
